Sublime Beethoven

Friday, June 6th
7:30pm
Joseph Strug Concert Hall
1385 Seymour St, Halifax

A gem from the great Richard Strauss, and a smiling and suave work from Francis Poulenc open tonight's concert, before the gigantic Op. 130 quartet by Beethoven. After the first performance, the composer was persuaded to cut the original finale, the fiendish "Grosse Fuge", and he duly wrote something less demanding for performers and audiences alike. We will hear it tonight in its original form. Good luck!
