Pierre Boulez Comes to Scotia Festival

In a festival heralded by the Globe and Mail as “the greatest music event in Canada’s history”, legendary French conductor and composer Pierre Boulez came to Halifax as a guest artist, accompanied in the first week by his Ensemble intercontemporain. The festival ended with a monumental concert featuring Boulez conducting a 100-piece orchestra performing Bartókʼs The Miraculous Mandarin, Debussy’s La Mer and Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring.
